So many shoes dropped this year, I'm picking my favorite 10. If you follow Complex, you know they do a convention yearly. During ComplexCon, they have a sneaker of the year panel. This panel is one of my favorites, I like to know what other people think were the best drops. My list is a little complicated because there are shoes, there are silhouettes and there are brands. Please chime in with your favorites!!
New Balance brought the fire this year. The New Balance 327 was a creat additon to the their roster, most of the colorways were super dope. Their collabs with Joe Freshgoods, Aime Leon Dore and Salehe Bembury. So my #10 is New Balance as a brand with a highlight of the 327 model.
Airmax 95 international drops are #9. The first pair is the 'Pollen Rise that only released in Korea. Caricature feel with bold Velcro patches. The second pair is the Size? 20 year anniversary collab. Before Covid hit, me and a friend planned to fly to the UK for this drop.
My #8 is the Tear-Away Air Force 1s. I love that this was a women's drop. There were two versions of the underlying color, one dropped in the US and the other in the UK. If they bring this option to NikeID it's over.
Sliding in for #7 is the ADIDAS YEEZY 700 V3 'ARZARETH'. From the moment I saw the mock-ups, I wanted these. I think this is my favorite Yeezy model. We're not going to discuss how I fumbled the bag on release day.
Supreme and Nike did what needed to be done here. Super colorful without Supreme splashed all over the shoe. Supreme x Nike Airmax Plus are my #6 pick for Sneaker of The Year. Also, this picture went viral, if you see it anywhere this is MY damn photo.
These are so clean. I love that the Spiridon Cage got a nice reboot this year. We saw some dope colorways but this one right here takes the cake *chef's kiss*. With that said the Fossil colored Stussy x Nike Spiridon Cage 2 is #5.
Just sexy. Pictures do not do these beauties justice. #4 is the Off-White x Jordan 4 Sail. I will give Virgil his credit and flowers here, these are major heat.
This shoes has a lot going on but comes together well. My aunt who doesn't even like sneakers asked me about these lol. Take your place as #3 Ben & Jerry's x Nike Dunk.
In at #2 is the Sia Collective Culture Vulture. I have worn the Tiffany colorway more than any other colorway. For an independent brand to make this much noise says something. And it's Black Owned, game over. Shout out to Devlin man, can't wait to see what else he brings next year.
The Women's OG is my #1 shoe for 2020. These are a retro of the 1998 release, the very first women's silhouette. The story is dope and the shoe itself is fire. Jordan Brand signed 5 WNBA players to the roster so hopefully we get some more dope ass shoes.
